Save As Agenda Template was created by Cube
Hello. your Agenda Template page
support.toastmastersclubs.org/component/...tem/agenda-templates

says "Hit 'Save As Agenda Template'".

There is no such link in the window that I am seeing. I got to the window by hitting the + button, like it said to.

I do want to make an alternative agenda template. I would like to save it in the dropdown for our saved templates. If there is a way to do this, I would be grateful to hear about it.

Thank you kindly.

Oh, here's an update: Sometimes the "+" button does display the option to "Save the current agenda as a template". Sometimes.

Maybe I have to be editing for the agenda setup screen to offer that option. This does not seem to be in the documentation.

But now.....suppose I do "Save the current agenda as a template". Is it going to overwrite my regular agenda template or is it going to create a new template menu item? I can't save it if this point isn't clear, and this point isn't clear.

Hi,
I just compared the instructions at the link you provided with the screen at which one creates a new agenda template and they jibe. My thought is that you have perhaps gone into the FTH area where one creates a new agenda, not a template. Please advise as to your intent: create a new agenda or a new agenda template. To possibly save time, I'll assume (yes, I know) the latter scenario and walk you through the process.

1) Log in as admin and launch admin console.
2) On the Site Administration pane, select the Meeting Agenda Settings dropdown box option. I believe you're stuck on THIS screen, looking for a Save As button.
3) Click on the plus sign button on the right side of the window. That's used to create a new template.
4) Once you assign a name and start time to the template (per the instructions in the doc to which you linked), you WILL see the new agenda template appear in the dropdown box of saved templates. I just did this then went back out, created a new meeting agenda (not template) and my template "TEMP" was in the drop down box of available templates to use.

When you write "I would like to save it in the dropdown..." I don't know to what "it" you are referring. Clarify a bit so I can assist further if what I shared above does not remedy your problem.

It should say click the pencil button (edit agenda button). The relevant button for creating a template from an agenda is in the Agenda Setup tab.

Okay, thank you, I'm pretty sure I don't understand what you're telling me but I have it working well enough. What I'm creating looks like an agenda. I don't know whether it is an agenda or a template. I want it to be an agenda but I want to save it as a template too.

Now here's one thing that is still holding me up: When I do access the pane that has the "Save Agenda As Template" button, and I push it, am I going to overwrite any existing templates or will I be saving a new template with a new name that I assign? The instructions do not tell me that in any way that I am able to understand.

Some people might assume that software will always do what they expect it to do, but that hasn't been my experience, and I certainly don't want to be erasing the club's stuff.

Thank you kindly.

It will only overwrite a template if you type in a name that is the same as an existing template. Otherwise you should be fine.
