Hello - I searched the other forums to ensure that I am not posting something that has been answered for others - i found a lot of posts about emails not working, but I seem to have things correctly set up on my end:

  • I am sending email from the email address I have on record in FTH - julie at becausal.org (had to remove the "at" symbol to get this to display)
  • I am sending to the email address specified for all members - members at lavozdeoro.org (had to remove the "at" symbol to get this to display)
I am not getting any error messages or kick backs from any server anywhere - there's just nothing seeming to go out.

Please advise - I am about to attempt to send from vpe "at" lavozdeoro.org to see if that works, as I am the VPE, but that ties to the email address I referenced above.

Can you check on your end and see if there are any errors or indicators as to what is happening?
Thank you!
Julie

UPDATE: I did some research on my end to see if I could get some info that would be helpful in troubleshooting this -
On April 29th at 14:33, I sent an email from and to the same addresses listed in the bullets above, and it worked perfectly. I see the sent item in my outlook sent items folder and the subsequent received item moments later in my in box, so something seems to have changed, but I don't know how to resolve this. If you are looking for this email in the server records, the subject line is: FIESTA DE REUNION! Tonight starting at 6:30pm at Joyride Taco House - sent on April 29, 2015 at 14:33 Arizona Time.

Additional Update - I just sent from vpe at lavozdeoro.org and received it in my received items list, but another person also in this club and in the membership on FTH did not receive the email - fyi, his email address is: jenningskevinmark at lavozdeoro.org.

The information I need to send out is time-sensitive, so if I don't have a solution sometime today, I will send via individual email addresses. I would like to be able to use the members at group email address so any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward,
Julie

There are errors with the way your custom website domain is set up. This isn't at the FTH end but with your domain registrar (which is GoDaddy).

It's not my field of expertise, so I can't offer any solutions to the problem. In any case, the fix would probably take a few hours to propagate to the entire internet.

You could try using the non-custom-domain form: members-4798 at toastmastersclubs.org (and similarly, vpe-4798 at ...), which I believe should work at any time.

I agree with Jane... you custom domain DNS settings are not correct, and this will prevent you from being able to use the email features.

Please refer to the following doc: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/dns-settings-overview

Thank you for the response. The thing is, as I looked further, I sent an email as late as early July that seemed to work and we haven't changed hosts.

I will look at the link you sent and see if I can figure out what to do from that.

PS - someone suggested that I use: members-4798 at toastmastersclubs.org - not sure what the difference will be but I will give it a try.
Thanks so much for the speedy responses by both of you!!
:cheer:

Using members-4798 at toastmastersclubs.org just bypasses using your custom domain, and should always work.

If you want to use the email that incorporates your custom domain, though, you will need to correct your DNS settings.

I don't need to use our domain - it's just that I want one email address to mail all of our members - we are regularly adding new members and it makes sense to have one email address that sends to all of them versus trying to keep everyone's address books updated.

Thanks for this solution - I will work on the DNS settings, too, given your link in the previous reply, once I obtain access from our previous VPE. Fun!

I appreciate your assistance. Have a great rest of your weekend!

Looking forward,
Julie
