Can't upload a photo to the server

I've been unable to upload a photo to the server. I don't get any error message; it says the image has been successfully sent to the server but then when I tried to download it from the server, it isn't there. I noticed we had a lot of photos on the server and some were duplicates, so I deleted some thinking they were not in use. I later realized they were in use and that I had committed a big booboo by deleting them from the server before they had been deleted from the webpage. Is there any hope?

You need to use the page editor to upload images that will go on pages.

You can delete the references to the images using the page editor.
