Received Request to Unsubscribe..

Hello,

We send email blasts from our website sometimes. We always include the option to Unsubscribe, which is a link to send an email to the VPPR. This week we received an email to Unsubscribe but we were unable to find the email address in the distribution list. Therefore, next time we send an email, this person might receive it again and he/she can complain and sue us (new regulation).

We don't think is possible for our contacts to unsubscribe directly, we don't think this person received the email from someone else and we don't think it is a scam because the message says: "From: Toastmasters Club 3767 on behalf of Li Xiangwen<leexiangwen@gmail.com> "

We could send this person an email for clarification but we would like to check with you first.

Freetoasthost already gives people the option to unsubscribe. I know this, because people have done that from my clubs.

Email sent via FreeToastHost to any of the lists other than the members list includes an option to unsubscribe. If the recipient clicks on that, their email address will be removed and replaced with a "noemail" dummy address. Their names and other details will stay on your database.

If you are giving them an additional manual option to ask to unsubscribe and they respond to that rather than the FTH option, you'll need to check and remove their address yourself.

You decide on whether to keep the person on your database or delete their entire record.

The unsubscribe link has started appearing in emails sent only to the members group. Is this a new function?

I clicked on it and it simply took me to the Toast of Inverness home page. Did I accidentally unsubscribe myself somehow?

If your name is: Gretchen Vaughn; you did not unsubscribe from the list. That is for people to unsubscribe though.
