Downloadable Pics on site

Hi,

How do I upload pictures on my website such that when a user clicks on the picture, it opens up in full size and they can download it.

For example - here - empire.toastmastersclubs.org in the middle of our homepage, we have a thumbnail size of our flyer which is a jpeg. I want to make it such that when someone hovers over the thumbnail, it is an open-able image, which opens such that it can be downloaded by the user.

Is this possible? If yes, please help! And thank you so much!!

Yes, it's possible to do that, but it requires working with the source code of the page.

A link in the source code is structured like this:
Code:
<a href="https://website.com/page_to_link_to.html">Your link text</a>

Instead of the https://..... text, which takes the viewer to another page, you would have the download link of your pdf file. Go to the Downloads page and click on the file, and copy the text from the direct URL box.

Next, replace the "Your link text" portion with the location of the picture that you're using. You can get this by using the Image button in the page editor and browsing the server.

You should end up with something that looks like this:
Code:
<a href="https://empire.toastmastersclubs.org/jdownload.cgi?action=download&path=flyer.pdf"><img alt="" src="/imageuploads/4461/image.jpg" /></a>

Be aware that if you get the code wrong, the page editor can try to be "helpful" and clean it up, and you can end up with a mess. It's a good idea to backup your page first, in case of a problem.

I can't download the actual file. Maybe it's not on the system, or has a different name from "flyer.pdf" or maybe it's in the members-only section. It need to be in public downloads if you want guests to be able to access it.

I am sorry - i am only seeing this message now. You are correct - a guest trying to download the file was unable to do so. How do i make the jpg publicly downloadable? How do i move it to the public downloads section?
thank you much!
