Google Analytics

Hi,

My club number is 9582 and the website is www.redbanktoastmasters.com

I am working hard to improve our website and all social media channels and would like to dive into google analytics for our club's site.

I actually have access to google analytics for a blog site so when I click google analytics is automatically signing me into this account which has nothing to do with Red Bank Toastmasters. Do you know how I can access other accounts. I see the bar on the right hand side in google which says manage other accounts. I just can't figure out how to add this one....

Also, I don't want to delete what is already in the google analytics box (attached). I am not sure if that's valuable. I know I have to insert a code somewhere, but I am not sure where I am supposed to place it in the box (pictured) or if I am supposed to overwrite what is in there now.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Natali

Google analytics are attached to a google user and website.

Hi Natali !!!

First things first... the data you've shown in the Google Analytics Script Code box means that someone else has already set up a Google Analytics account for your site, and that analytics are already being collected.

There's a problem...

That account must be attached to someone's email, and I don't think that "unattaching" it is possible. If whoever set it up created something like a custom gmail account just for your club, then that can be transferred to you, and the job gets easier.

In the worst case, if they attached it to their personal email, then you'll have to discard the Google Analytics script info that's there in your website and set up a new Google Analytics property for your site. If you have to do that, Google will give you new script info to put in the box for Google Analytics.

Sorry for the gobbledeygook, but the first step is to try to locate the past web admin that set up the Google Analytics account (they also set you up with Google Webmaster Tools, too) and find out if it's connected to their personal email or to something they can transfer to you. If they can transfer it, then life gets easy. If they can't, or you can't locate the person, then we'll do it the hard way, but we still can do it.

Let us know...
