Custom Domain Question

Custom Domain Question was created by D78
I am having trouble telling if I have us set up correctly for a custom domain. I believe I added the DNS records to GoDaddy as specified in the instructions on this website more than 24 hours ago, but I never got past the part in the FTH admin console where you put in your custom domain name. It kept telling me that the records were not yet pointing to the correct IP address.

So I called our registrar GoDaddy this morning and gave them the URL for that page of instructions so they could make sure I had set everything up correctly. The tech rep said that the records were correct, but we had to remove our forwarding of our URL to our FTH website for the DNS changes to take effect. We did that and I am now told it could take up to 24 hours from when we removed the forwarding for the records to propagate through the internet to the point where putting in our custom domain into FTH will actually work.

I hope that's true and I keep checking periodically, but I'm kind of antsy. I didn't get the feeling this tech rep was entirely sure of what they were doing. Because we are in the midst of registering people for our spring conference, I REALLY would not like to have our website down for 24 hours only to find that there is something else wrong that has to be changed that starts yet another 24 hour clock. I was wondering if someone can take a look at my screenshot of our DNS records and tell me if they are at least correct on the GoDaddy end of things?

Thank you!

Thank you! I already referred to that page to get to where I am now, so I'm going to need a little more detail than that. :)

I do think I see an MX record in my image fourth from the bottom of the list. Is that wrong, or do I need something else in there?

Also, I just checked in GoDaddy. The field that appears in their user interface below that table of DNS records that they have labeled forwarding is definitely showing no domain name. I was on the phone with their tech support yesterday, and that's what they did and said Forwarding was now off. But from your comment it sounds like maybe you are saying that the first A record in the image I attached needs to be deleted as well? Is that correct?

Thanks again!

Kirsten

I just checked again and you are not broadcasting any MX records and the Domain is pointing to the wrong IP

You need to contact your registrar and get the domain forwarding turned off.

I am literally on the phone with them this very minute and they are telling me the forwarding is turned off. What do you see that indicates it is not so I can tell that to them?
