Members Still Cannot Access Site

Hi,

It's been two weeks and some of our members (mostly officers) cannot access our website. We get a 500 ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error anytime we try to access the website from home (wi-fi or Ethernet).

The only exception is if we try to access it via mobile data or away from home (for example, me and our president can access the website from our work computers off site).

It started two weeks ago. I embedded javascript into a page and refreshed the browser. Then, that's when I got the error. For a moment I was able to access the website after logging out as an admin (going through the phone), but then the error started again.

Also, I thought it was an isolated incident with me, but then our other two vice presidents said they were having the same problems. I've just restarted my router, tried different browsers, and cleared our browser cache and we are still having this issue.

Can some one please do something? It would be GREATLY appreciated if something can be done by tonight since Tuesdays are our meetings. Thank you so much!!

The javascript embed has since been removed. It was on the Media Release page.

I'm using Chrome. But, as I have mentioned, it doesn't matter what browser I use, I still can't access it.

This is impacting two other members and I'm not sure why.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Sometimes even after removing the javascript it can still be stuck in the cached version of a web page. Many browsers (particularly Chrome) are "stingy" about clearing their caches.

Yes, I have cleared the browser cache. This problem isn't browser specific because we've tried multiple browsers.

Our president has a theory that our ISP (internet service provider) is blocking your IP address.

Well if you can get access to the website at all and it is not browser specific then unfortunately I am not sure what we can do on our end. Probably not what you want to hear...

You are not using a VPN, are you? Sometimes using a VPN can cause issues.

With regards to the ISP theory, that might explain why you can access the website via phone. Have you verified that all the affected users are using the same ISP as a way to check that theory?
