The site recognizes her as a valid member. Have her change her password by leaving the password field blank, selecting Authenticate/Login, and selecting a new one.

Thank you for checking that. She is on our list of members who should have access to the site. However, the problem is that the site itself won’t open. She gets error messages saying it is taking too long for the site to respond no matter what device she tries to use to log in.

There are many possibilities. Here are a few. If she has no problem reaching other websites, then the issue isn't related to her computer per se or internet speed. Have her clear her browser cache (depends on browser) or try a different one. Of course, there's always YouTube.
