The admin email must be valid, it must be active, and it must be reachable by the FTH server. The admin email address is considered to be a very important email address in the system. If the server attempts to send an email to the admin email address that is repeatedly bounced back to the server, then once our threshold for repeated bounces is reached (I call it "bounced out"), the server will replace the email address with a noemail-#### address, which is just a dummy placeholder email address that the system recognizes as something it should ignore. It does not delete the email address because not having an email address is not the same as an email address that is invalid or cannot be processed--the system needs to be able to distinguish between the two cases.
If the admin address has bounced out and is replaced, then of course, you will get an error message the next time you attempt to edit anything in the website settings module. This is intentional--you need to fix the problem with the admin email address as the noemail- address is just a temporary measure to keep the system from repeatedly sending to an email address that is bouncing back. We may not be able to reliably force you to fix the admin email address at the point in time when the problem was detected, but we can certainly flag a problem the next time you try to change anything in the Website Settings module.
