domain name change error
1 year 2 months ago
Good afternoon.
I have needed to change our domain name from raconteurs.org.au to raconteurstoastmasters.org.
In updating freetoasthost, the site timed out before it could recognise the domain was correct. Now I am unable to log in to raconteurs.org.au as it is unsafe and unable to pass traffic, and raconteurstoastmasters.org did not get saved as the new domain.
Could the custom domain be changed for raconteurs.org.au to raconteurstoastmasters.org please?
I am listed as the site admin, and I can tell you we have an agenda setup for September 26, and not yet for September 12 (proof of ID?!)
Thanks, and regards.

If you want the admins to be able to help you, you'll need to provide your club number.
However, you can always log into your site by using the club number. i.e. https:// 123456.toastmastersclubs.org (replace 123456 with your club number, and don't leave a space before it.) That way, you should be able to fix it yourself.

Thank you so much for your response.
I have logged in utilising the club number (714166), but I am getting an error when I try to save the new domain name (raconteurstoastmasters.org).
Might an admin be able to assist please?
(Also, is there a need to change the DNS settings for the original domain that is no longer being used?)

Fixed
Please confirm that your MX record is set up correctly - I don't see that, but it might be hidden? Settings are shown in table 1.2 here: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/dns-settings-overview
The unused site now points to the FTH "request a website" page. Can you cancel that domain?

You are missing your MX record that controls where email is processed.

Thanks to all for your assistance.
The site now is working.
With regards to the MX record, I believe it is set up correctly with a 0 priority. I will test emails this morning.
