Creating new [Link] adds ?2HUiHP  to the end of the link

Our home page at  
On the "Main Menu" left column, I want to add a [Link] pointing to our "District 117 home page" page.
When I try to do this, it keeps adding ?2HUiHP  to the end of the link

I have followed the following steps: "To create a link only, Select a Module" then select "Custom Web Pages", enter the URL in the "Your Web Page Content/ or Link URL" area and the link title as the "Web Page Title / or Link Title", then select Public, Members Only or Officers Only Access--this determines under which left menu your link is placed."
"Web Page Tools: [check for bad links]" does not seem to work.

use  d117.toastmastersdistricts.org/index.html as the url

Is it possible to link to a non-FTH hosted website?
Example: d217toastmasters.org/
