FTH 2.0 enables you to easily add the Google Webmaster Tools verification meta tag to your home page HTML code. If you're not sure why you'd want to do this, then search fo 'webmaster tools' in Google to learn more.
1. You'll either need to sign up for Google Webmaster Tools, or log in using an existing account.
2. You'll be adding a new site. Copy your FTH 2.0 home page website address from your browser's address bar. Then paste the address into the field.
3. Google needs to verify that you "OWN" the website. They will present you with their "Recommended method" for doing this, and "Alternate methods"
4. You won't be able to use the "Recommended method," so click on the "Alternate methods" tab and then click the radio button labled "Add a meta tag to your site's home page."
5. Google will present instructions for copying a line of text that looks like this: <meta name="google-site-verification" content="khu7tsY6IdU7bb8bUqUpjUi_sEVfz2h8xq0JvkmiXes" />
6. Copy this entire string of text. Don't close this browser tab or window because you'll be returning shortly.
7. Go to the first page of your FTH 2.0 Site Administration window, scroll down, and paste the copied text into the field labled "Google Webmaster Central Meta Tag." Save your changes and close the admin window. FTH automatically adds a new meta tag to your website with the code.
8. You'll now need to VERIFY your site with Google, which you can do immediately after you've saved your changes to FTH. Just go back to the Google Webmaster Tools page (you did leave it open, right?) and click on "Verify now." That's it!
