1. So you are saying in order to get credit for level 1, I need to complete all 8 speech projects to get credit?

I remember the level one pathways was different depending on what year you bought it. Originally my pathways had “research & presenting” instead of “vocal variety & body language”. And a couple years later they changed the projects. But the change only applied to Paths purchased after the change. Meanwhile the old paths will still be stuck with the old projects.

Did they maybe change the level 1 for all, regardless of purchase date?

4) that’s actually not my question. I am well aware that roles are part of the new pathways requirements. My report card has several levels where it says I need to be table topics master. And it did not give me credit. Yes, I signed up as table topics master in the agenda last week. But I do not know where that credit went to get applied to. Maybe it got applied to an entirely different path. Or maybe since engaging humor was my last path it adds the credit somewhere in the levels. Not sure where it goes.

I just wanted to jump back into this thread since I originally started it and make a few comments on the discussion so far.  First though, let me just say - you guys are really killing it with the bug fixes.  Things are getting updated faster than I can check….

It was stated that it would not take long for a VPEd to make an agenda of speeches and add speeches done off site.

The VP of Ed in my club maintains all of our DCP progress on a piece of paper.  Not even a spreadsheet.  No one in my club has ever been able to make an agenda and when they did have access to the agenda function they inevitably screwed it up so badly it wasn’t worth trying to delegate the task to them.  I know this is only my experience in the clubs I have been involved in, but I think you may be overestimating the technical skill level of the average club.  So correcting all the issues just in my record alone will take significant time, and along with my VPPR role I would be the only one capable of correcting the issues.  As an example - after the upgrade yesterday I was on the phone with a member who was giving a speech last night.  She went into the new site to update the agenda and saw the word RELEASE next to her name and deleted her speech and had no idea how to get it back - that’s the technical level of the many members.  She then spent 10 minutes complaining to me why they changes a site that worked.

Before releasing this feature every member maintained their own current designation by simply adding it after their name.  I was Kevin Shannon, DTM.  So members at least in our club have always been responsible for displaying their own credentials.  They would know the best how to correct the issues.

It would be much easier to correct the issues if we could simply mark a level complete without having to enter every project.  I understand this may be a challenge since the goal was to automatically update completion based on agenda items.

Finally the display of the badges seems very cluttered and a bit confusing but I may just need to read the directions for an explanation.  I have so many Buttons next to my name.  As an example I have LD1 LD2 and LD3.  I would expect that just the highest level of LD next to my name would be enough since I don’t think you can submit a level 3 without already having completed level 2.

Interesting how the word “RELEASE” could be interpreted that way. It’s kinda a software terminology where we release memory that no longer in use. But the lay person might interpret it as sending out the agenda to everyone!

It might be better to rename “RELEASE” to something like “REMOVE”

In the past it was just an “X” and the non-technical people didn’t know they could click it to remove themselves from the agenda.

Also, in regards to emailing the agenda to people, I did not see the email button above the agenda that we had in FTH3. I’m not sure where it went but it wasn’t in an obvious spot.

Building on this, I agree that changing RELEASE to REMOVE  or X would be more consistent with  what members are familiar with and reduce confusion. Can that change, please, be made?

1) I am not going to debate the pathways report card. It is a tool you or your club can use it as you want. Your club has been given the tools to correct historical errors it your club decides to. Your VPEd and Club Admin can also assign others to assist or you can rotate everyone through the assistant position. It is your clubs history over the last 14 years so it is up to you how you decide to fix it.

2) You RELEASE the Role you do not REMOVE the role.
