Cannot login from homepage, missing custom pages list, etc.
7 years 2 months ago
Hello, Steve, Pam, and George,
This is my first time to post here, as suggested by Steve. A day after successfully updating our slideshow on my homepage with a longer html/script, the homepage login boxes have disappeared, along with the list of custom pages on the console window. I've been successfully using one of the custom pages (outdated Speechcraft announcement) to test my changes before making them public. On the homepage, the slideshow is not showing the radio buttons of slide sequence that were showing on the test custom page (could this be part of the problem?). One of the custom pages is our important newsletter archive page, which I can't access to edit anymore. And I cannot create a new custom page, either. Also, the filenames on the file manager have disappeared. I can still log in from the other pages, and I also noticed that every time I try to leave the console window, I get this message: "1 unsaved change! The unsaved changes are highlighted. Do you want to save these changes?" To which I always answered "No" because there's nothing highlighted. Could you please help me? I really want to keep the slideshow, please.
Many thanks,
Carmen

1) you can go to your directions page and login (it works I tried it) and fix your coding.
citymiddaytoastmasters.toastmastersclubs.org/directions.html
2) something on your home page is messing up the coding all we can do for you is clear it. We do not fix your code.

Thanks for your quick reply, Brian. I'll see if I can remove some of the slideshow codes that don't seem to work, anyway. Not confident that would bring back the normal site functions, which evidently are important for me to continue managing the site as VPPR this year. Will get back here, soon.

Hello again, Brian and Steve,
I've fixed all my coding (missing end tags. etc.) such that the slideshow now displays as it should, including the previously missing slide indicator buttons. No more prompts for unsaved changes before closing the console. However, my homepage login boxes, the admin console list of custom pages and create function, and the file manager list of filenames (file icons OK) are still missing. Would you or anyone else be able to restore those functions for me, please? I can't really make do without them.
Looking forward to hearing from the experts again,
With thanks,
Carmen

Still not right... Style block clashes with system styles. (e.g. 'text')

Thanks, Steve. Do you have a system coding/format guideline somewhere that I can read?
Apologies for this pain,
Carmen.
