Technical Support Request
7 years 3 months ago
Got a message telling me something like officers-3090@toastmastersclubs.org is not valid ?
Why I use it all the time to communicate to club officers ?
Here is the issue put the Club President as contact on TI.
As VP ED I never get emails from TI telling me a member finished a path.

officers-####@toastmastersclubs.org is a club only email address.
One of the features of FreeToastHost 3 is that emails in Find A Club that are contact-####@toastmastersclubs.org are sent to 3 people in your club. However, the email addresses like "officers-#####@toastmastersclubs.org" is restricted to members of your club. You should change the email to contact-#####@toastmastersclubs.org and then make sure that your contact form has 3 officers listed in the contact settings of your website.
The second advantage of using contact-#####@toastmastersclubs.org, is that FTH3 interprets the Pathways email from Toastmasters International and forwards it to the Base Camp Managers without you having to change any thing in the form. For example, you can have the contact-us form go to the VP-Membership, SAA and another officer or member but the Pathways email will go to the President, VP-Ed and the Secretary.

officers-3090@toastmastersclubs.org *is* valid. However, it is only valid for use by club members. You cannot use it for your club's find a club email address... it will not work since the implication would be that non-members could send email to that email address. (they cannot) That is why you got the warning message. This is not something new... the officers list has never been usable by anyone other than club members.

It is all the same... FTH 3 is more of a branding / PR thing than anything else. People were starting to think we never updated the system... Of course, we always updating it. The code you are running now is different than what you were running just a few weeks ago.
