Creating and saving different page layouts, while not changing the "Saved" pages

I am developing a small group of members who want to be involved in updating and improving our website. I want to explore and create different layouts for pages, and save them separately so others can view the updated pages? That way, I don't change the current pages that the general public currently sees.

How can I do this?

Thanks for your help.

In the editor change to source view and copy and save the html locally on your PC.
You can create custom pages and not list them on the menus.
