A dual-member gets moved to the former member list

1 year 6 months ago
#92673
Hello-

We have a member that belongs to two different clubs. Since he joined another club, his account often gets moved to the former member list. I have to move him back to the member list when it happens. Is there a way to keep the problem from happening over and over? Is a person allowed to become a member in multiple clubs on the system?

Thanks,

Masa

Since you have provided none of the information we need to help, all I can ask is that you help us to help you.  We need at least the club number(s), though the club name(s) also would allow confirmation. You mention "a member."  Name, please!
The answer to your last inquiry needs no additional information.  Most definitely, "a person [is] allowed to become a member in multiple clubs on the system."  I am a member of two clubs, both of which use FreeToastHost.

I apologize for the luck of the information. I didn't know what information at what details to provide to get the help. Now that I know, here are the information you asked:

The member's name: Joe Shultz.
He belongs to the following two clubs. I am currently VPE at Cedar Valley Speechmasters.
Cedar Valley Speechmasters (Club Number: 00009708)
New Generations (Club Number: 04527989)

This morning, he received a meeting agenda for the week and the "Please confirm you are not a member" message back to back when I reinstated him to the member list and sent him (via a member mailing list) the email. See the attached screenshot. He has not logged into the club 9708 for at least a week.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

Masa

I do see that Mr. Shultz is on the Members list for clubs 9708 and 4527989, albeit with variations in the name and e-mail address, and that he has opted in, so that is not an issue.
Your screen shot indicates that he clicked the Not a Member link in a message he received in club 9708. You write that "He has not logged into the club 9708 for at least a week," but he need not log in to click that link. Are you (and he) positively sure he didn't click that link?
If he did not, then this issue needs to be addressed by a more senior FTH staff member.

The issue is that his email processor is clicking the link.

You will need to turn off the "Not a member" in the Admin console>Email>email security

I have confirmed with Mr. Shultz that he did not click the "Not a member" link at all. He mentioned that when it happens that a club announcement email and "Please confirm you are not a member" email come at the same time or a few minutes apart.  Thank you, Brian for letting me know that there is an option to turn off "Not a Member" link to FreeToastHost emails! I have turned it off. Let's see if it helps.
