Suggest allowing people to be moved before opting in

I accidentally added around 30 Prospects to the Member page. It took me quite a while to enter everyone individually. (I tried batch entering everyone at once but it did not work.) After posting a help question and having it answered, I was told that I had 2 choices: wait for them to accept, or delete and re-add. It was explained that the reason we are unable to edit people before they opt-in is because an email is sent out to that person, and they are expected to be added to that list.
MY SUGGESTION: Send a new auto-generated email for any updates made and mark the previous change as expired. The most recent email in their inbox would have the current info and allow them to opt-in to that list and not the previous one.
I think this will help lots of other newbies in the future. Thanks!

I am going to pass on this. Having multiple opt-in emails in people's email in-box is a recipe for confusion and mayhem, and I do not want to provide for that.

Additionally, the opt-in process is intentionally rigid... we are not going to loosen it up.

It's mentioned that the op-in process is intentionally rigid. Perhaps too rigid in my perspective.
I have members who have never used our FTH site
I have members who have quit using our FTH site due to repeated login issues.
I consider myself a competent computer user, windows 10. I started with personal computers when a brand new machine had one floppy drive DOS. Because of email opt-in, and members not signing up,I use my own email for club communication. I have several members who are great members who have never and will never use FTH.

I still use FTH, print an agenda and keep records after the fact.
Yes, this is a personal rant/comment. I believe this could be done better.

Sorry you feel that way, but the way it is was FORCED by Toastmasters International in response to the European Privacy laws. We were quite happy with the way it was before.
Thank you,

Just so that we are all clear, keep in mind that for most websites, you would not even be allowed to enter people's contact information in for them at all... we kept that functionality as a compromise with the way it was in the past.

In most other websites / web apps, the new member would have to enter their own contact information in and it would have to be confirmed via an email before anyone else could even see them in the website. (They would be invisible to the website until they opted in.)

We have researched this stuff a *lot*, and yeah it is rigid, but we have tried to keep some of the flexibility of the past.
