FTH uses absolute time

I just uncovered this rather startling and amazing feature while going on my world travels. Not many know of it and some confusion has ensued when I contacted clubs using the site asking when their meetings were because there is a conflict between when they say their meetings are and what their calendar says.

My suggestion is to add some verbiage like "Club Meeting times auto adjust for your local time zone."

That will not always work. When I was traveling I was in one timezone but the internet service was in another time zone and the time they broadcasted to my PC made everything the incorrect time. Time and dates across time zones will always be a pain. Especially for clubs close to timezone boarders.

Got what you're saying, but if this feature is used, you don't think there should be something said about it?

I was very confused until I read the docs, but a guest won't do that (most members don't) and the calendar is for guests as well as members.

Or, don't use this feature at all. If my meeting starts at 6:30 pm, no matter where on Earth I come from it will still display as 6:30 pm. Then there's no confusion.

The "auto adjust" only happens on the full screen calendar, not in the actual agenda module.

In the past, the calendar code only supported the UTC timezone or whatever was the local timezone on the person's computer. I opted for the latter setting.

However, it looks like the latest update (in the last month or two) to Full Calendar supports setting a specific fixed timezone... so I may update our code at some point to take advantage of that.
