I cannot find an option to remove this link from the menu for the public view.

How can this be done?

Log in as the admin, launch admin console, click on Custom Pages. Click on the link, and either make it members only, officers only, hidden or delete it.

Just to add to that.. it is in the section down below where you are literally working on the page.. down in the admin part of your screen.. if that helps.. it's easy to forget to look down there for things to do.
