She's receiving the emails, but she is unable to log into the website, for instance, to sign up for a role on the website.

Make sure her cookies are set correctly. If they are not, she will get logged out. The system will "forget" that she is logged in.

Would it prevent her from logging in? Her name drops down when she starts typing it, she clicks it, enters her password, and clicks log in. That is when she gets the error message.
