Domain expiring

10 years 11 months ago
#50123
Hello
I received this message and since I did not set up the original website, I am not sure how to fix it.

Your custom domain will soon expire on 2015-06-12. Please contact your registrar to renew it so that you will not have any issues accessing your website or using the email features.

How do I do this?
Thanks for any help anyone is able to give me.
Nancy

Good! I recently implemented that as a courtesy reminder and I am happy that it helped someone.

When your custom domain expires for your website, you will not be able to access the website using it and you will not be able to use the email addresses using the custom domain. This is not our doing... the block is put in place by your custom domain registrar when you do not renew your registration. You will still be able to access your website via your club number at that point. http://####.toastmastersclubs.org (type your club number instead of #####).

We do not control or have anything to do with your custom domain being renewed or expiring. If you wish to renew it, your club will need to contact your domain registrar, pay them the renewal fee, and get it renewed to continue using it. (Otherwise, they will block you using it.)

If you do not know who your domain registrar is, you can use www.whois.com and enter your domain name and it will tell you who your registrar is. The whois information should also tell you the name of the person from your club that set up the custom domain--they should be able to assist with the renewal.

If you elect to let the domain name expire and no longer use it, we can coach you through setting up a free website alias as an alternative and guide you through transitioning to not using the custom domain.

Thanks for the information. I can either track the person who set it up originally or my son is a computer guy so he may be able to help. Thanks so much for your quick response!! I am sure it is nice to know that someone actually reads what you put on the website :)

Be aware that some registrars will give you a grace period after the expiration date to get renewed. I do not know if yours does or not, but you may want to inquire about that.
