Inserting a guest into a meeting agenda

How can I put a guest speaker, non-member, into a meeting agenda. Do I add them as a guest first in the members' list? Does the agenda then allow me to freehand type in their name and speech title?

Thanks!

A solution that works well is to make a dummy member with no email address in Membership Management. Name the member {Guest}, including the curly brackets. The curly brackets will force the dummy member to the bottom of the list alphabetically.

You can reuse that dummy member for any guest speaker. You can type the actual name in the role description. The speech details can be completed there, or if the role is checked as a speech it can be selected from the dropdown, and the title added as for regular members.

You can also make another dummy member: {Area Director}

I wasn't clear, Pat, sorry. We have a new member and she's in our Member's List....but hasn't gotten her access to self-select for a role. I can do that for her -- as I would for a dummy member -- but since she's already a member, how shall I get her a speaker's slot for her Icebreaker?

If she is on your Guest list, you can move her to the Members list using the Membership Tools near the top of the Membership page. If she is already in the Members list, send her a New Member Welcome message, or she can trigger a log in access by clicking the "Member Login" box and following the instructions for a first time login.

As it is her first speech, it would be appropriate for your VPE or the Toastmaster of the meeting to assign the role to her this time. You can also do that if you log are logged in as admin.

grazie, again!! A raft of new officers so I'm functioning as the Bureaucrat In Charge while they get up to speed.

I tried to use the Boardcode, selected a little face but it plunked down :ohmy: in my text. Does that mean you'll see the face but I won't?

Hmm. If I'm logged in as Admin, how do I override that and self-select for this new member with her name and her speech title?
