We have been having issues with download links in Chrome on our District website in recent months, and I am hoping someone has a solution or alternative for this issue.
Basically, the usual url format we use for hyperlinks to download files in our Public Downloads, “http://www.d24tm.org/jdownload.cgi?action=download&path=EXAMPLE_FILE_NAME” (
example
) has not worked in Google Chrome since approximately late December/early January. Chrome will act like it's going to download (as in, opening a new tab and then closing it right away) but no file is downloaded (I checked my file explorer Downloads folder to be sure).
I know that the links are correct because if I open a different browser like Internet Explorer, clicking the same link will in fact download the file, and we're using the same link format as we always have, which did work in Chrome until a couple months ago.
I am using the newest version of Google Chrome. After deleting cache and cookies, the issue persists. However, this does not seem to be an issue with any individuals’ specific Chrome browsers, as the issue has been reported by multiple individuals (all using Chrome, and all reported being able to download the file in other browsers). These individuals have also been able to download similar files from other sites on their Chrome browser during this time.
