New ToastHost website not showing up in search engine
4 years 2 months ago
Hello,
We have just launched our toasthost website. However it is not pulling up when we search for it on the web - I have used google chrome (and others - eg search engine on my smart phone) as the search engine. I have looked up the support forum and followed the instructions that were given to previous users with the same issue. I have also updated club central with the new website. Just to note our existing website is still active and I am wondering has this got something to do with it. I haven't cleared my cache...but given I have tried other search engines I am not sure if this will solve the problem.
Club number is 6255 and here is the link to the new website, fingal.toastmastersclubs.org/
Look forward to hearing from you.....Thank you

It can take up to 6 months for search engines to search your site.
Did you read the documentation on Search engines?
support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/improving-google-ranking
I see your old website is still active
Fingal Toastmasters – Toastmasters Where Leaders are Made
fingaltoastmasters.com
You know you can move your custom domain to point at your new website
Configuring DNS Settings for a Custom Website Domain

Hi Brian
Thank you for your reply. I have had a quick look at the links you sent.
Our old website is due to terminate this September but we would like all traffic to come to our new site from now. It would appear that the solution would be to use the old site to re-direct traffic to the new web site. However I would need help with this - the attachment you sent suggests that a non tech savvy user should seek help. Can I request help from your toast host support team. Also if we do this what happens when the old website is taken down - do we have to reconfigure again?
Thank you
Olga

Contact your domain name registrar and give them the information in the DNS doc.

Hi Brian
Thank you for your reply. I will so ahead and do what you have suggested. I am just wondering once the old website is taken down will that mean that when people search for "Fingal Toastmasters" they will automatically be taken to our new toasthost website? The old site is due to be taken down September 2021. However you mentioned a possible 6 month waiting time - is there any way to circumvent this - my concern is that once the old website is taken down there is the potential of losing our visibility for a considerable time.
Thank you
Olga

www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/#?modal_active=none
Get your site set up there... put the meta tag in the admin console, then you can request a rescan of your site whenever you want.
