How to track Pathways speeches given outside of club meetings

Is there a way to track pathways speeches given outside of club meetings on our FTH site so they show up in reports on speeches? 
We happily use FTH reports to track pathways speech progress from club meetings.  But some members occasionally give speeches at other clubs or events.  The only solution that I can think of is to create a meeting template containing only one speech, and then create a single speech meeting agenda for speeches given outside the club meetings.  Is there a better way?

You can create an agenda template with only one speech role. No need to assign a time and don't assign a venue. Disable all the role options except "This is a speech".

When someone gives an outside speech use 'Create A New Agenda' and assign them the lone speaking role. As long as you always apply a past date to this 'new' agenda, it won't appear in the current agenda page or in the list of future agendas.

When you create the template ensure the 'Calendar Label' matches the name you give the outside speech agenda template so the past dated calendar events are identifiable.
