Hi FTH
REF:
Previous Support Request (Response from Pam)
Recently Pam assisted us (Charlestown Toastmasters, NSW Australia) per above by setting up an alias (charlestown.toastmastersclubs.org), as were using an "org.au" domain which had become restricted (eg, only available to Toastmasters clubs if they are incorporated). Currently we are able to use both the alias (as set up by Pam) and our original "org.au" domain, until it expires Feb 26, though encouraging members to use the alias to avoid any potential complications using "org.au".Could I please confirm my understanding of above Support Request outcome with you just once more, as I have been asked to explain the outcome to the Club however being of a technical nature I tend to find it difficult to convey my understanding clearly via written communication without risk of complicating the conversation, details as follow:
- My understanding - I tend to think whilst Chlstn TM can use the alias until expiry of the "org.au" in Feb 26, we WILL still need to purchase a new domain at expiry.
- My reasoning - I tend to think the alias will not just keep working without us purchasing a domain, as it's an "alias" (to an existing domain), not a "domain" in itself?
- Alternately could the alias continue working after Feb 26 without our "org.au" domain, as possibly it operates independently?
Also ref specific reference to alias in below extract from Support Request: 6345.toastmastersclubs.org This is your toastmastersclubs.org url with your club number. It can always be used (regardless of alias or custom domain). It can't be changed

alias. It can always be used (regardless of custom domain), as long as it exists as an entry on your website. It can be changed.RegardsGreg DeLore VPPR Charlestown (Club 6345) NSW Australia
