Successful Club Series - Moments of Truth

In signing up for a presentation in Free Toast Host, I went down to the Successful Cub Series and went to select Moments of Truth.  I saw that the timing for this was 60-90 minutes.  I believe this to be incorrect.  This is the actual time that is required to do a complete Moments of Truth with a club.  The series presentations are overviews of the concepts.  They are all meant to be 10-15 minutes in duration.  I did verify this with Toastmasters International Education.  Can you update the timing from 60-90 to 10-15?  Thank you.  (Club #2875)

You will find to do Moments of Truth it will take you the time in FTH. It is a long module.

I contacted Toastmasters International as well.  If you go to the shop for Moments of Truth, it says it takes 60-90 minutes.  If you download from Basecamp is says the modules usually take 10 -15 minutes.  If you truly follow the module and do everything it recommends, it will definitely take 60 - 90 minutes or more.  When I talked to the representative from Education they were going to check on the discrepancy.  She agreed that the moments of truth typically takes a lot longer than 15 minutes.  I have not yet heard back from Toastmasters International. 
As the module states - you divide into 6 teams (one for each of the critical Moments of Truth and give them 10 minutes to discuss each criteria.  Then for anything that is rated a 3 or lower you are to discuss as a group.  That leaves less than 5 minutes for x number of categories.  This also assumes there is no direction given or discussion about the 6 categories.  

That 90 minutes is only the first presentation, then there is the review at the executive meeting to see what suggestions will be implemented, and a plan. Then the presentation back top the membership of what the executive proposes going forward. You can figure on at least 2 executive meetng and 1.5 - 2 club meetings to run a full Moments of Truth.

Moments of truth is a commitment to success and it does have a steep investment by the club, it is well worth it in the long run.

The point of the Successful Club Series of presentations is to give speakers a chance to give overview presentations on a variety of topics that are important to Clubs and its members.  These overview presentations are expected to take 10 to 15 minutes.  When downloading the Successful Club Series zip file dealing with Moments of Truth from the first page of the instruction manual, one will find:

Most presentations in The Successful Club Series (Item 289) may be presented by any club member and take between 10 to 15 minutes to present.

I agree with you in that if you were to run a full Moments of Truth, then this first meeting would run 60 to 90 minutes.

The Successful Club Series Moments of Truth is only an overview presentation and runs 10 to 15 minutes.  This should be reflected as such in FTH.  It currently lists it as 60 to 90 minutes.

REMINDER: You are free to ask for any amount of time for your presentation after consulting with the VPE. 
Just put a note in the title and your speaker intro and talk with your Toastmaster to ensure they see the variance. 
The Toastmaster controls the times on the agenda and your attention to this detail will help them.

The Moments of Truth module is at least one full meeting when done as intended.  It involves the entire club in the process and is both valuable and eye opening. It's also a great way to expand your skills as a group leader.

If you choose to test run the material with just the delivery now, I hope you will work with your VPE and board to dedicate a full meeting to the process,.
