Custom website no longer resolving

Our Custom Website  croydontoastmasters.org.au/ has stopped resolving. When you click on any links to the site from now across the internet they are all defaulting back to the free toast host site  26.toastmastersclubs.org/

Our Club information can still be found, which is fine however the custom domain which we have been paying for is no longer resolving to the 26 site.
When I last logged in, I noticed the following message from you, indicating there may be a issue with DNS resolution: -

[2026-06-28 11:25:06 GMT, FreeToastHost System Warning]  *** IMPORTANT! ***

NOTE:  The FreeToastHost server was unable to create / renew a HTTPS certificate for your custom domain:
croydontoastmasters.org.au

*** This means that you may not be able to access your website using https:// with your custom domain
name after any existing certificates expire.

Possible causes may include:
a. Your custom domain's DNS records are set up incorrectly on your registrar's website.
b. You are using domain forwarding--it is *not* supported.
c. Your custom domain has expired. (If so, you must address this with your registrar.)
d. The custom domain listed in the admin console is no longer being used.
e. The FTH server was temporarily unable to connect with the free LetsEncrypt! service to create the certificate.
(If so, this could be resolved automatically in a week.)

*** Note that the system may remove your custom domain from the database to prevent further invalid
attempts at cert renewals.

You may also access your website via  26.toastmastersclubs.org

You can check your custom domain's expiration date using:
who.is/whois/croydontoastmasters.org.au

You can view your current DNS records using:
www.digwebinterface.com/?hostnames=croyd...ns=auth&nameservers=

You can try to troubleshoot your DNS records using:
www.dnsstuff.com/tools#dnsReport|type=do...ntoastmasters.org.au

Please contact the FreeToastHost support team at  support.toastmastersclubs.org  for more details and assistance.

- FreeToastHost Support (This is a system generated message.)

I spoke to the hoster, Web Genius, who suggested we restore DNS back to July 1 to put the site back in its original state, will this suffice or do we need to do something more?

Appreciate if you can let me know, so I can co-ordinate with the web hoster.

I am not a technical expert and I don't understand what you mean by resolving - I tested the link and your site appears to be working.

However, you can simplify your life if you transition from the domain to the FTH alias.
Instead of the domain
croydontoastmasters.org.au/
you can direct users to your alias
croydon.toastmastersclubs.org/

Simply change your club link in Toastmasters.org and wherever else it is published, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Alert your club members to the change. Then you’ll have no domain hassles and no domain expense.

Just a suggestion...

To add some details to Peter's answer, as I understand it (I'm not in Australia), the rules for org.au names have changed and you need to be a registered not-for-profit entity. See www.auda.org.au/au-domain-names/the-diff...org-au-domain-names/ for details, especially the Who can get an org.au domain name? section.

Like Peter, I would recommend using a website alias. You can use something like "croydon . toastmastersclubs . org" (if it's still available, and if not, you should be able to create something similar that will work). It will become active immediately, and it's free. See support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/website-alias for further details if you need them.
