Editing a member's profile

The club admin and VP Membership* have edit access to a member's profile. The member does need to have left the "Allow admin edits" box checked for this to be possible, otherwise the profile is read-only.

There are a great number of options in the member's profile and to list them all would take up too much space, and probably be a little overwhelming.

The most important ones are touched on in Edit your profile (for members) and Do I need all these emails. For the most part, a member can take care of these, and the other myriad options.

The VP Membership* or admin might be called on to help someone with disabilities which make the editing process difficult. They might occasionally need to fix an incorrectly-entered email address so that the member can receive the opt-in and password-reset links.

You can't make the member's profile public for the "Meet our Members" page. The member has to do this.

Enter the profile by clicking on the Edit button at the end of the member's listing in the Membership management page.

Make the changes, and save.

The VP Membership* and club admin also have access to a few items in a member's profile which are not available to the member. These are, along with any links to further detail:

  • Followup data (date, how, and notes) — see Follow-up with guests and others
  • Private notes (called Officer notes in the Private member directory) — for administrative notes e.g. member is interested in becoming an officer.
  • Joined club on (date)
  • Membership history within the club (The member can edit the date of joining Toastmasters.)
  • I have completed the Toastmasters Mentoring Program.
  • Status (member, guest etc) — see Moving members to other categories
  • Officer role(s) — see Assigning officers
  • Purchased Pathways modules

Please remember:

Treat this page with respect, and check with the member before making any changes to personal info.

*plus any other officers who have access to Membership Management
