UPDATED FEATURE - Send New Member Welcome Email upon New Member Opt-in

Several of you have asked about sending the new member welcome email when a new member "opts-in" and I agree that would be great, so I added that functionality. However, you have to enable it as it is disabled by default--we tend to not like a lot of emails just being sent out automatically, so this is disabled by default on purpose. There is a checkbox to enable it in the Membership Management Settings tab... see below:



There are also some modifications to the existing notifications to indicate that the welcome email was also sent.

I usually send new members an email after I log in their information, therefore, I am confused what does opt in mean? If I select that box, does it mean that I do not have to send it anymore?

You are a bit behind... (read the above)... time to catch up. And yes, you can automate the sending of the new member welcome email with this, but you need to read up on the above thread to understand opt-in first.
