If any of you are also web developers with expertise in email deliverability, I would welcome the opportunity have a conversation with you.
FreeToastHost continues to have some challenges with being able to effectively deliver emails to certain email systems without whitelisting, such as Microsoft email systems (e.g. HotMail and Outlook.com). Once a user has whitelisted the FreeToastHost server email address in their email agent, we are fine but expecting users to figure out how to whitelist our server can be problematic. Even though I created a doc specifically to address this,
support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/e...embers-receive-email
, it is clear that keeping this doc up to date w/ changes in email systems will be a challenge, and expecting users to be aware of this doc and to follow it is also going to be a challenge.
Additionally, recent link protection schemes (via Barracuda email security) that certain email agents are implementing are preventing some of the links we put in basic text emails from working as intended. For example, in new member and new club admin emails.
We have put a lot of time and effort into trying to ensure that emails sent through FreeToastHost are actually delivered and do not end up in spam filters, but my frank assessment is that we are still falling short in a few key areas, such as the above.
I have done just about as as much as I can think of and we are at the point where we need to seek any available expertise from our user base. Hopefully, someone out there sees this, has the needed expertise, and is willing to assist. FreeToastHost depends a lot on our user base to speak up, contribute, and help keep the system viable and useful for the long run.
If you are able and willing to contribute your expertise, please drop me a Private Message.
Thanks in advance!
