Domain name problems

In our admin console we have received he following error. We are now using 2520.toastmastersclubs.org (we got this name from you) and have made it so that Gainesville Toastmasters brings up that website. Not sure what else we need to do.

So the question is whether you intend to use the custom domain moving forward...

The problem is we don't know what we are doing. We don't know what our custom domain name is. We know that gainesvilletoastmasters.org expired. The warnings went to someone who had left the club and did not notify any of the rest of us. We got the 2520.toastmastersclub.org from you and we do have Gainesville Toastmasters pointing to that but there must still be something wrong as when we do a google search it brings up the 2520.toastmasters.org but with the https:// crossed out and saying it is unsecure. Is there a way we could zoom so you can show us what we need to correct? The two people who are trying to work on this is Kristy Byers kristynne.byers@hilton.com and me k2dneumi@yahoo.com.

So it is 2520.toastmastersclubs.org ... You have to enter it correctly, you cannot just wing it on the URL that you enter.

The other thing is that custom domains are paid for through a third party registrar and are renewed on a subscription basis. They do expire and require renewal at some point. You could wait until the domain becomes available for someone else in your club to register it, but I would recommend that you just switch to using a website alias.

See:
support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/a...whats-the-difference
support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/d...tical-considerations

To get you started, I entered gainesville as your website alias in your admin console for you. Therefore, you can alternatively access your website via gainesville.toastmastersclubs.org now.
( 2520.toastmastersclubs.org will also still work.) Note that there is no www when using a website alias. (not supported)
