Calendar: Add long rich text box for event description

As an admin or member who's adding an event, I want a formattable description field (like the Message field I'm using now) so i can include event details without having to create a separate document or PDF and link to it. Right now the only option I see for description is a url field. Thanks!

Nice thought, but the calendar is a 3rd party plug-in, so we don't have control over that sort of functionality.

Thanks for your quick reply, Pam. I appreciate that you and other volunteers have provided this impressive platform for free to Toastmasters clubs. Have you all considered changing the 3rd party calendar provider to a widely used one with more features, like Google Calendar API? Or does FTH calendar use exceed 1M queries/day? ( developers.google.com/calendar/pricing )

Everyone has their favorite calendar. You can use what ever calendar you want just hide the supplied calendar link and put up a link to what ever service you want.

So, our current calendar plug-in *does* support the Google Calendar API. However, I have not put any code in place around integrating that (yet).

We are not going to be changing to a different calendar plug-in. The one we are using is what I deem to be the best for our use cases. There is still a lot of the existing plug-in functionality that we are not using. (again... yet)

This is actually a possibility as long as we could define how that would viewed once it is set.

FYI: The calendar functionality is due for a much-needed update. My current plan is to create a new admin module called "Events & Announcements" (or something similar) that would house calendar settings (including Google Calendar integration) and a new Announcements feature that would be replacing the current Floaters feature. (Announcements would be basically beefed up Floaters w/ start and end times and a few other things.)

No promises on "when?"... I am pretty jammed up right now. However, I thought I would chime in here to let you know that are definitely some future possibilities w/ the calendar functionality. Feel free to keep suggesting improvements for that.
