I created an email address (through FreeToastHost) for an upcoming open house. I tested it, and at the time it worked fine. An email to the email address whet to all the names for the RSVPs.
Today, a former members said she email the address and she got a message that "You do not have the right permissions to send an e-mail to this e-mail address,,,,"
Can someone tell me why that would be?
I just tested the email address from my work email, and I get the same error message. Here it is in full:
[You don't often get email from server@toastmastersclubs.org. Learn why this is important at aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification ]
You do not have the right permissions to send an e-mail to this e-mail address (rsvp@beverlytoastmasters.org) from jmaihos@pmlp.com . Be sure your "From" address in your e-mail client is the same as your address in your toastmastersclubs.org member profile.

The only email addresses that can be used by non members are Contact-nnnnn, and President-nnnn etc
members-nnnnnn and officers-nnnn can only be used by active members.
Other groups have different rules.
Please read the docs on custom groups, and who can sent to a custom group.

Is there ANY way this email address can be toggled to being publicly available through October 9?
To say that I misunderstood that documentation is an understatement.
Since we just sent an email to 1200 member of our local chamber of commerce, this is a pretty big issue.
While the attraction of a multi-person distribution was attractive, (so that multiple people received the email from the public) the fact that the public can't sent to it is 100% not helpful.
Can I take control of the email for our domain back?
If so, I can easily set up email forwarding groups through the ISP.

The custom address will only work if you only have one member in the group and public access to single member custom groups is enabled in settings. The custom address you've set up is okay, but you have too many recipients.
To overcome that (if you must have multiple members receive the responses), set up a dummy member with e.g. a gmail address that multiple members can access, and make that dummy member the sole member in the custom group

I AM LOST AND I NEED HELP.
Is someone able to tell me, PLEASE, if I can dig myself out of this issue.
I thought I created and email address that could be used by the general public to respond to someone in the club, ideally a group of people. If that's not possible, then one person can receive the replies. IS THAT POSSIBLE?.
The email address is not flexible. It needs to be rsvp@beverlytoastmasters.org. (This is the email address that a QR code points to for a promotion flyer that is already in the public.
While I appreciate people trying to help by pointing me to documentation, when I go through it, it still makes not sense to me.
